Beautiful photos and helpful locations of swimming holes around the world. Unfortunately they are not grouped by country so you have to flip through the whole book, say if you’re going to Iceland. I highlighted in the table of contents each location by continent, then wrote down the names of each pool located in Iceland. So we visited several of them while there. It tracked. Some of the pools were not even very crowded and didn’t seem to have very many tourists and we were so grateful to have read this book first. One downside is that several photographs and locations repeat throughout the book.

This book is a historical presentation of water: how it brings a sense of freedom, and how it’s used for bathing, healing, restoration, and exercise around the world. There are a few hundred pictures of watering holes, pools, beachside swimming areas, and spas around the globe.It’s easy for the reader to feel transported to far away lands, longing to visit and take a dip into the many bodies of water presented in the book. I told my friend today that I want to take a trip to Iceland someday and sample some of the bodies of water pictured in the book!I was fascinated with the comprehensive information about so many locations.
