Where to start - This book just lost steam about halfway through. One of the things that I have enjoyed about this series so far (as opposed to the first trilogy) is that this trilogy has been pretty well paced. But that ends with this book. While the story is still great, R.Scott seems to just LOVE going on and on about his philosophy like George Lucas and "the Force"; much more akin to the first trilogy.in the Great Ordeal, R.Scott goes so overboard with his prose + Thesaurus that I, being just a regular human, not Dunyain - have to pause, reread each passage, and often google words just to understand what I am reading. While this might be cool while reading a book on philosophy, religion, or history, its not so much fun when I am just trying to relax and enjoy a good fantasy book. Sometimes it gets so heady, that I just miss it completely and hope he puts it in the appendices of the next book, as he has done in the past.I am still looking forward to the conclusion of this series, and am glad I read the books because the world R.Scott has created is phenomenal, I just wish he would stop trying to push his philosophical beliefs on me.
