The book is worth the read _though I skimmed through quite a bit _ I'd guess, I flew through a hundred pages all-in-all. I found the translation a bit wonky - awkward in places, too literal in others. My main feeling is that any reader who has read Nesbø will be a bit better able to understand why Nesbø is a world phenomenon and his style and stories make anything similar pale in comparison. That said, Engberg appears to have realized her vision for the tale, which is all a reader can ask - the rest is up to us.

Wow I loved The Tenant and then I read the Butterfly House and got even more hooked! What a thrilling murder mystery! I love how Katrine writes!

The way this book is written is very well done! Every character in this book is important to the main plot and there are clues sprinkled throughout the whole thing that me and my book club honestly had to go back and look for. You love the detectives, the suspects, the mystery and even the killer. The author did an amazing job and I can't wait to read her other books!

This is a well-written Nordic mystery which takes place in Denmark. I love the main characters for the most part. Although, having had three kids, I felt as if Anete’s anguish over motherhood was a bit overdone. Other than that, the characters are all very likable and well described. The plot was a bit theatrical, but it made for interesting reading. It certainly kept me engaged. I would definitely recommend this and her first book, Tenant, to any mystery lover.

This book was a delight. Even though I didnt like the previous one in the series very much, I am glad I read it as background for this second in the series. The lead characters seemed much more real and had more humanity this time. The plot was a real rollercoaster ride with lots of great red herrings and scary bits. The author showed a lot of compassion towards the mentally ill and the lack of quality care available to many of them. Also compassion towards first time parents and the many expectations that bombard them at a time of great stress and change in their lives. This story was beautifully constructed and well researched.
