This is the most charming book! I hope the author does another. I especially love the collage/diary format of colors, flowers, and favorite things with the handwriting.

Bought this as a birthday gift for a friend, she absolutely loves it.

Bezaubernde Interieur-Malerei, die inspiriert!

Künstlerin S. J. Axelby (inzwischen schon für ihre roomportraits recht bekannt) hat in der Coronazeit für ein Jahr lang jeden Tag ein Bild von einem wunderschönen Raum und seiner Ausstattung gemalt. In diesem Buch sind 89 Raumportraits davon zu bewundern - immer eines anderen Designers/Designerin. Auf jeweils einer Doppelseite werden der/die KünstlerInnen vorgestellt, interviewt und der Raum, sowie Details, Farbkonzepte, Muster, etc. malerisch abgebildet. Axelbys Malstil finde ich locker und frei und zeigt zugleich viele Details und Texturen, was mir sehr gut gefällt. Die Interviewfragen und Infos der KünstlerInnen sind kurzweilig und persönlich.Das Papiercover ist wunderschön gemacht, wirkt hochwertig und es fühlt sich gut an in den Händen zu halten.Mein Fazit :LiebhaberInnen von Interieur, Design und Malerei wissen dieses Buch sicher zu würdigen. Ich jedenfalls sehe es mir gern an und finde die Infos zu den DesignerInn en interessant - aber nur 1-2 Doppelseiten am Stück, da es recht gehaltvoll ist. Manchmal bin ich dann selbst inspiriert zu Tinte und Farbe zu greifen.....

Bought this for all my friends who love interiors; it is the perfect Christmas gift! It’s got a lovely textured cover and feels expensive even though it’s quite reasonable for a coffee table book. Love it!

Love SJ Axelby's paintings and this book is full of them with illustrations on every page with interesting information about the designers on the opposite page to the paintings. Would make a great present but I kept this one for myself.
