ABOUT THE AUTHOR
This is a really good book with online code that is updated and current. It walks you through a practical example step by step to create a web site. I got a bound copy but a kindle version (if available) would have been fine.
Very fast.
It's a good introduction to asp.net as it was with .net 6. As I write this, .net 8 prerelease is just out, so this is kind of dated. There are a few errors scattered throughout but not enough to be an issue. It covers the basics of identity framework and entity framework (which is something you should always skip if you can). It clovers Razer and some of the Blazor use cases. It's a pretty good intro overall. But there is definitely a lot of Microsoft Kool-aid being drank here. If you want to improve your quality of life don't even install MSSQL and learn to do things with PostgreSQL or nearly any other database instead. MSSQL is not stable enough for real-world use. Yes, I know people will disagree with me, but I've been doing this for 35 years and I still do it every day. Just avoid MSSQL server and your life will be better.
Pros: This book contains a deep dive into everything you need to know about ASP.NET.Cons: The code examples are difficult to read in the Kindle version for two reasons:1) The code is very poorly formatted. The lines wrap, there's no syntax highlighting, and there's no contrast with the surrounding text.2) Code example are repeated in their entirety, even when a single change has been added, and the differences are not highlighted or bolded at all. This makes it tedious to find the small change the author is referring to.If they could fix these code formatting issues, this would be a 5 star book.
Great book and a good prices for a college book.
