ABOUT THE AUTHOR
As a Mohs fellow with a host of books given to me at the start of the year, this one takes the cake. Concise, informative, detailed, and written by some of the best authors in our field.
A very helpful overview of high yield reconstructive approaches to Mohs defects and other Mohs clinical pearls. The step by step explanations are easy to understand, and the accompanying videos help clarify some procedures. I recommend it to all my surgical colleagues.
As a medical student, I was thrilled to hear a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon tell me that Dr. Tolkachjov and Dr. Harmon just published their book on Mohs micrographic surgery. I reached out to our medical school library, and they purchased the book the same day. I feel a wealth of information has been opened up to me in this book. It is written with a logical and hands-on approach, guiding the reader through the techniques of Mohs and also the rationale behind the techniques. I found questions I have wondered about Mohs being answered in a systematic way reading through the text, and the collective knowledge conveyed in this book from fundamentals to more nuanced pearls about Mohs surgery is impressive. As a medical student, I especially appreciated the relevant anatomy sections for Mohs specific to body site. The real example cases in the many photos demonstrating closure and flap techniques are excellent and represent the outstanding collaborative work among the Mohs surgeons contributing to this book. Knowing the exceptional quality of Dr. Tolkachjov’s work, I am not surprised by the quality of this book and am excited and grateful to have such an outstanding resource now available for learning about Mohs surgery. I look forward to going back to this book as a trusted resource for years to come.
