Great story

I have read all of Laura Griffin's books. This one was okay, but not as intense as her other books have been. The characters are excellent and came to life for me, but the middle section of the book was rather boring. I didn't feel the intrigue or suspense driven action she usually writes throughout her books. The romance didn't have any chemistry either. This one is not one of her finest. The plot is clear, but the process of finding the murderer was too slow for me.I will read her next book though.

This is a well written novel with a very good plot and interesting characters. I have been a fan of Laura Griffin’s books and consider this as one of her best. I sincerely hope this the beginning of a new series because Leanne and Duncan should be involved in other exciting situations.

Laura Griffin’s Innocence Road is a fast-moving suspense story built around Leanne, a heroine whose courage and determination make her easy to admire from the very beginning. As the investigation unfolds, the clues seem to point clearly in one direction, and I thought I had the mystery solved early on. But Griffin delivers a well-timed twist that shifts the picture just enough to make the final reveal satisfying. Even when you think you’re ahead of the story, the payoff still lands, making this an engaging whodunit with a strong central character.

Big fan of Laura Griffin books. Have entire Tracer series and Texas Murder Files series, along with stand Alone’s, all of which have read several times. Innocence Road hardcover and therefore expensive, and left me disappointed. First of her books with no romance to brighten otherwise dark topic. Had I known, would not have purchased. Murder and CSI work are dark and need happiness, camaraderie for light and balance. None here. Story well-written and held attention to end, though won’t get a second read. If you are reader who dislikes romantic mysteries, good choice for you.
