There aren't many textbook options for courses on Radiation Biology, especially modern texts at the introductory level. The Alpen book was the previous standard, but has become outdated; however, these authors studied under Alpen, and have been teaching Radiation Biology themselves for some time.First impressions are great: for biologists, the introduction to concepts of Health Physics (radiation and radiation safety) are very accessible. For health physicists, the Biology concepts are a little on the intense side, so don't be surprised if you need more background in biology if you're coming from that angle.Do bear in mind that this is a first-impressions review: more details to follow as I continue through the text.UPDATE: I've since finished the course, and am confident to say that it prepared me for all of the concepts well, relaying the information much more effectively than the Alpen text (which I also own). Moving forward, this text should be the standard.
