Llevo usando UE un año y medio, pero nunca había usado Niagara. Para mi este libro ha sido perfecto para aprenderlo. El autor explica perfectamente los conceptos y el procedimiento paso a paso para explicar los casos prácticos no puede ser mejor. Cada pequeño paso ilustrado con una imagen del nodo o elemento al que se refiere, es imposible perderse. Solo he encontrado muy pequeñas divergencias entre la versión que usa el autor 5.1.1 y la que uso yo 5.6.1 pero no han sido un problema para que pudiera seguir todos los ejercicios. Desde luego es mucho mejor que ver tutoriales de youtube. Es dinero muy bien invertido. 5 estrellas bien merecidas.
If you want to understand ans start from the basics of VFX. This books will help you learn from basic math fundamentals of VFX and how to make them in UE easily.
I am new and slow when it comes to VFX and particles and Unreal's tools looked a bit overwhelming to me. This book helped me, with practical examples, to get to know the tools and familiarize with what each part does. It can also become a quick reference book when you are working on your project.I starts relatively simple but as you progress through you will see more complex stuff you can do and you are never overwhelmed. At the end you will feel accomplished and closer to use the engine for make your dream project a reality
I'm not a VFX artist, but I am an indie animator, so I do need to dip into making / adapting VFX assets every now and then - this book is a super useful reference for when I get stuck. Written in plain language, easily understandable and accessible. Good for beginners like me, and I assume more seasoned realtime VFX folks for the more advanced topics. Full disclosure: I was sent a review copy.
I started learning Unreal Engine with Youtube tutorials, and while there's a ton of videos out there with great information, I never really felt like I was able to understand how some of these features worked. This textbook does a great job going into detail about these features of Unreal like the script editor and Niagara. And since this is a pdf/ebook I can go back and quick search things I may need to refresh my knowledge on. And for someone who is still learning Unreal, the diagrams are incredibly helpful since they're screenshots that focuses on each panel or input that's being explained. For someone who doesn't remember anything from high school algebra, the diagrams that explain different vector operations in a visual manner are such a nice touch. Unreal is pretty scary to new users who aren't very familiar with the system, and this book helps make it a lot less scary.
