The Martian and Project Hail Mary are fabulous books. Five stars! The male lead characters are well written, witty, and personable. They’re stories of perseverance and hope. If you’ve seen the movies, the books are a great read because they’ll answer all the questions you might have about the science, in great detail, and they’ll also fill out the stories in a more satisfying way. The movies, by necessity, cut out many of the details. Artemis wasn’t as strong as the other two books; Weir tried to write a female lead character this time and I think he missed the mark on her personality. And her plot wasn’t as compelling. But if you collect books, this is a trilogy worth having. I read PHM three times.
