I was so very thrilled to find this very difficult to find book series to have for my grandkids! Worth every penny!

Great stories, engaging style. I read them in 1980s, my daughter's reading them in the 2020s--and they stand up. Decent physical copies. However, that last book is not the next in the series but an unfinished book, written up from Fitzgerald's notes after he died. There are 4 other books in the series (not included): it's a shame this "8th" book was placed in the set, rather than the others.

I loved reading these books growing up set in the late 1800s in a small western town dealing with lots of differences including religious difference. I bought these books for my grandson who will be entering the 3rd grade next year but loves to read. I hope he loves them as much as I did.

What a fun series!

It is numbers 1,2,3, and 7 of an eight book series. On the other hand, book 7 is hard to find and worth the price of the whole set here.
